Tasks for the teams in village Pissouri – Team Building

Name of the Team 

Give a name to the team and define the participants of the team. Teams must do following tasks 😊. The activities need you to take photos. We recommend that you use one phone in your team for this so it is easier!

📷Task 1: Fountain

In the square of the village there is a graphical fountain with some art on it? What is the name of the fruits that are on it? (not real but sculpted one)? Can you find the history that is behind this fountain? Some villagers may help you. Take a photo with your group and the fountain together.

• Name of the fruits: Grapes. There used to be water and the people made a fountain for it. (Got this info from a local)

📷 Task 2: Communal Amphitheater

The Communal Amphitheater of Pissouri is a new amphitheater with old design (coming from ancient theaters); find it and find the place where you can talk and be heard from everywhere. Take a photo of this place with your group in it. (If the amphitheater is closed you can take a photo at the entrance)

• Unfortunately it was closed so we took a photo at the entrance!

📷 Task 3: Point of View

There is a vast point of view in the village. Where is it? Can you find it? Next to this point of view there is one of the best cafeterias in the whole area of Limassol County. What is the name of the Cafeteria? Hint: it's a type of photography 😉What means the name of the Cafeteria? Go there and take a photo of the view from this point or with the people who work there.

📷 Task 4: Hill View

We are hosting in a lovely hotel (Hylatio Tourist Village) but there is another hotel which is at the top of the hill. What's the name of that hotel? Can you visit it to see the view from there? Can we have a photo of the hotel named TASK 4? What else is next to the hotel? Can you use your creativity for the photo in Task 4?

• "Hill View Hotel". We couldn't go up there because we were kind of tired not gonna lie but we went pretty close to it!
• We couldn't find it
• We were too tired to go to the hotel so we took one a level below the hotel🤣

📷 Task 5

Pissouri is growing and there are a lot of restaurants. In Pissouri square there is a restaurant named VRAKAS. What does that mean? How is this restaurant relying on the history and traditions of Cyprus? Bonus points if you get a picture with the name of the restaurant in the background!

• Vrakas means undergarments and the way it is relying on the history and traditions is by the traditional food.
• Vrakas - trousers. They serve local dishes. And have only thr local products.
• This restaurant has local products and produces local food, vrakas means undergarments
• We loved the lady that worked here! She was so sweet🫶🏼
• Vrakas = baggy breeches worn in the Cyprus

📷 Task 6: Taverns (Simposio-Platea)

There are a lot of taverns in the square and around. Can you also find the restaurant and café? What does Simposio mean in Greek? What about Platea? Can you take a photo with the name of the restaurant?

• Simposio usually refers to gatherings for food and festivities. Also Platea is the town square.
• a place where people gather. Hang out there
• Platea means square, simposio means meeting

Task 7: Main Church

What is the main church of the village? Can you find it? (There are a lot of churches and small churches in the village, but we want the main one.) A photo of the group in or outside the church is a must for our tasks.

📷 Task 8: Small Church

Near the Communal Amphitheater there is a small church with a big hagiography of the Virgin Mary embracing us. Can you find it? What is the name of the church? We need one photo of the group from the garden in the yard of the church with the name TASK 8.

• Panagia Akonopetras is the name.
• We forgot to do it
• They had amazing lemons on the way🤣 Delicious 🍋

📷 Task 9: Bunch of Grapes Inn

Pissouri, in the last 40 years started to be a touristic place. There is an Inn and restaurant which it was the first opened from the beginning of the touristic period in Pissouri. Is this restaurant still open today? What is the name of the restaurant? Can we have a photo of your group in the gardens of this restaurant?

• We were asking around and accidentally found the owner of the oldest pub here in Pissouri. The name of it is "Leo Sparti" and it's located in the square. He told us it's about 40 years old and the building is even more than 200 years old.

• We loved the aesthetic, it reminded me of my hometown and region( North Macedonia) because we are also crazy about wine and grapes

📷 Task 10: Barber Shop, El Barrio

As all big villages in Cyprus our village also has a traditional barber shop with a nice and elegant barber. What is the name of the barber shop? Can you take a photo with your group at the entrance, or even better with the owner?

• The name of the barber shop is "Barber Shop". Nice!

In Pissouri square there are 2 Monuments in the village. Can you also find the reason for the monuments? Where is it? Who was it and what has he done to have a monument in Pissouri village?

• We took pictures of both of the monuments but we can only upload one so here is the better picture. The name of the monument is: Rebellion of Villagers of Pissouri - 1931

• We really liked this activity. Good cardio, learned more about Cyprus and Cypriot culture. Met new people
• We liked it, it is a small village but the people are very friendly.
• It was a really great way to learn Pissouri. I fell in love with the village, the people are so nice, and i think that my teammates would agree🫡. Thank you for this amazing trip🫶🏼
• It was very fun way to get to know eachother. We are thankful for the opportunity.
