1st Follow Up Activity Report: Body Accept Dissemination Project

Date: 18th May
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Future YouthHub, in partnership with FabLab Iasi

Participants: Approximately 30 youths

Overview:

On the 18th of May, we held the Body Accept dissemination project from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The event took place at a new location that is set to become a YouthHub in September, in partnership with FabLab Iasi.

Activities and Highlights:

Presentations: During the event, participants shared their experiences with the Body Accept project. Each participant spoke about their journey, the activities they engaged in, and the lessons they learned about body acceptance and self-esteem.

Interactive Exercise: An engaging exercise was conducted where participants prepared a set of questions related to body acceptance, the impact of social media on self-esteem, and societal standards. Guests were asked to move to the right side of the room if they agreed with a statement and to the left side if they disagreed. This activity sparked lively discussions and debates after each question, allowing participants and guests to analyze and reflect on each situation in depth.

The event provided a comprehensive understanding of the Body Accept project, highlighted the critical issues related to body image and self-esteem, and fostered meaningful conversations among the youths. The interactive nature of the exercise facilitated active participation and deeper engagement with the topics discussed.

Online dissemination for the project from the Romanian participants

LuminiÈ›a: My general feedback is a positive one. I loved the topic of the project, the way the activities made us more connected and everything that i learned from the facilitators but also from the other participants. I liked the food a lot, the location and the people. Overall it was an amazing experience, maybe one of my favorites projects that i ve been in so far.

Nadejda: Body Accept PDA was a great opportunity to rediscover myself, discover methods to connect with my inner child and to meet new great people.
Starting with the first days, I felt as if it was a safe space, thanks to Elena and Erma, which contributed to me opening up and getting involved as much as I could. People were different, and even though I did not open up with each in particular, or interact with, I felt very welcome and not judged by any means.
The workshops were very well organized, from a logistics point of view but also from creating the mental space we needed. I am very grateful to Bobby for being there to provide any necessary resources.
The location, the food, the accommodation–everything was great, from the first minute until the last one. Thank you.

Bianca: I'm very grateful for this opportunity, it was a unique experience and I can't wait to be back in another project. I want to thank you for the amazing workshops, for your involvement and organization, for the interesting activities, for the important information that we learned during the project, and also for the unforgettable memories that we made with beautiful people. And also through the activities I had the opportunity to be aware of some aspects about my body and know more about myself and make some connections about my past.

Daria: As my first experience into this type of project, Body Accept has set the bar incredibly high. It has not only addressed important issues but also provided engaging and thought-provoking practical tools and a supportive environment for personal growth. The accommodation provided was a perfect home away from home. It exceeded all of my expectations and it contributed to the overall experience.
